Gross-out show ‘Fear Factor’ will reportedly resume airing in the fall on NBC following a five-year hiatus. Former host Joe Rogan will also be returning to the show, Rogan hosted the show for its six cycle run from summer 2001 to 2006 where it struggled and pulled weak ratings and dwindling viewship when it aired at the same time as Fox’s “American Idol”.
Since ‘Fear Factor’ ended Joe Rogan has been the commentator for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is an extremely popular form of mixed martial arts. Of the show’s resurrection Rogan had this to say: “"t doesn't seem real. It seems like some sort of bizarro dream world. But I'm looking forward to it. The idea of sitting at home and watching someone else host it would have driven me crazy.... What I brought to Fear Factor the first time I hope to bring to it again — a background in competitive athletics along with being a standup comedian. This show is tailor-made for me.”
