Pop star Lady Gaga’s newest album “Born This Way” was released to a huge opening week, selling more than a million copies just in its first week. The second week following the discs release was not quite as exciting with it selling a grand total of 174,000, Billboard has since hypothesized that the huge decrease in sales is due to hundreds of thousands of purchases being made when the disc was selling for 99 cents on Amazon.
Billboard went on to say that if sales don’t pick up again Adele’s latest CD will likely pass Gaga’s and reclaim the number one position. Adele’s 21 is in the number two spot and a boost in sales will certainly cheer up Adele who just recently had to cancel the final portion of her North American tour due to laryngitis.
