Ashlyn Horry, the seventeen year old daughter of former Los Angeles Laker Robert Horry passed away early on June 14th at Texas Children’s Hospital after suffering from an extremely rare genetic disorder called 1p36 Deletion Syndrome. The disorder is a genetic illness that causes harm to Chromosome 1 which is one of the most important parts of human DNA and accounts for 8% of human DNA and causes intellectual disability, delayed growth, respiratory problems and seizures.
Ashlyn Horry faced countless tests and surgeries in her young life and on many occasions came close to death, spending the last six months in the hospital following and finally passed away from severe respiratory issues and other complications.
