Tobey Maguire Denies Involvement In Illegal Gambling Ring

Actor Tobey Maguire denies involvement in alleged celebrity gambling ring. Earlier this month a lawsuit against Maguire was brought for over $300,000 for money the actor supposedly earned by participating in illegal poker games, the money that Maguire won allegedly came from $50 million that hedge manager Bradley Ruderman had embezzled from clients. The lawsuit states that Tobey should have to forfeit the funds because the money wasn’t Ruderman’s funds to gamble.

Maguire’s rebuttal says that the Texas Hold ‘Em games were not games that required licensing, and thus he did nothing wrong. Maguire admits that while he was invited to participate in the games he denies that the games were made up of celebrities, lawyers and other white collar people of wealth.
